NC State Fair Part 2: Sheep Show
After the pig show, we switched gears to the sheep. We had a dozen sheep to get ready, but made record time and had them ready after a couple of days of work despite having to deal with some sandspurs in the wool.
The show went great! A few highlights:
Alec got to join us for the day. He was an excellent sheep holder and cheerleader.
Gideon won Reserve Champion Showman! Isaac was right behind him at third place.
Dahlia won her class! This is Mom’s special girl. She bottle fed her for months, and loves her dearly. Mom’s face was priceless when she won that blue ribbon! If you look closely, you can see Gideon’s smirk when Dahlia was chosen as the class winner. He knows just how excited Mom will be.
I got to show! I’m too old, but we needed bodies to show in champion drive, so I grabbed Hollywood and jumped in. Can you tell I love it?
Norma won Grand Champion Got to Be NC! Norma was born on our late Uncle Norman’s birthday, hence her name. It was super special that she was chosen as champion. I only wish I could write Uncle Norman a letter to tell him.
We had fun! The sheep show is always a good time. The boys might disagree when it comes to certain sheep; just look at Gideon’s face below. Norma was being extremely loud, and Gideon wasn’t thrilled. Even still, we love showing the sheep as a family.
Isaac’s favorite lamb this year is Lycka. Ya’ll her Icelandic genes come out strong. She be crazy! She’s either on the ground or in the air.
